Popovich Awarded the NBA Coach of The Year

SAN ANTONIO - The success of the San Antonio Spurs won 50 victories this season to coach Gregg Popovich was awarded the title of the year. This is the second title for Popovich after 2003.

Popovich succeeded to beat the Chicago Bulls coach, Tom Thibodeau and Indiana Pacers coach, Frank Vogel in second and third. Thibodeau is a winning coach of the year last year.

When reached for coach of the year in 2003 ago, Popovich Spurs managed to bring a championship. Many people predict, the same feat can be repeated Spurs this year.

After only a 12-9 record at the beginning of the season, Spurs have lost only seven times in the rest of the season and a clean sweep by winning 50 of the other parties.

50-16 record, it makes them a top seed in the Western Conference. Popovich had to prove to those who doubt that the Spurs squad are old is wrong.

Tim Duncan is now 36 years old, while Manu Ginobili 34 years old. Even in the middle of the season, Ginobili had an injury, however, the Spurs still able to record 11 consecutive wins this season.

Popovich has coached the Spurs since 1996 making it the longest train trainers in the club. Popovich also became one of five NBA coaches with four or more NBA rings with Pat Riley, Phil Jackson, John Kundla, and Red Auerbach.

Popovich is making a special addition to his loyalty for 16 years with the Spurs is the sustained energy.
