LONDON - England football legend who still lived career in the United States - David Beckham, will certainly have the honor to carry the Olympic torch from Athens to London in the near future.
As reported by USAToday on Thursday (5/17/2012), the quarterback who still defended the Los Angeles Galaxy was selected the 2012 Olympics organizing committee, to carry the Olympic torch eternal flame from Athens to London and then going around the track throughout the United Kingdom with eight thousand miles.
Beckham later trip certainly not alone. Will initiate air travel from Athens on Friday, the mega star will also be accompanied by Queen Anne, who is the younger brother of the head of the United Kingdom - Queen Elizabeth II.
The election was of course based on various considerations. One is because Beckham is one of the UK delegation who helped his country in the election campaign hosted the summer Olympics in 2005.
After going through the torch handover ceremony today, Beckham will take the torch around the UK with eight thousand volunteers guarded the route from Cornwall in southern England to the Shetland Islands in northern Scotland and will end in London for 70 days.
