Faceless Fish Found in Scotland

GLASGOW - A group of researchers discovered a rare species of sea near the Orkney Island, Scotland. This rare fish has no brain, face, and fins.

Fish that have only two inches long has a semi-transparent body, not a good swimmer, and invertebrates. This fish has a nerve cord on his back, which serves to help him move.

Researchers also found several other species, such as giant clams (giant mussels), mussels fire (flame bed mussels), mussels horse (horse mussel), and shellfish fan (fan mussels).

"In an age when the world's land has been mapped and recorded, it is interesting to know that behind the waves, there are many new things waiting to be discovered," said Richard Lochhead, Environment Secretary, Scotland.

"The waters around Scotland has an amazing biodiversity, and has become our responsibility to protect the fragile environment. That's why we've ramped up our marine survey, with plans prepared for the new survey in 2012, in order to deepen the knowledge of what lies beneath the sea Scotland, "he added.

InternationalBusinessTimes preached on Sunday (01.01.2012), giant clams, approximately 18 inches in length, and expected to live to 20 years.
