LONDON - Indonesia was not the only country that has requested access pornographic sites are blocked on the BlackBerry. Countries like the UK had even had to reprimand Research in Motion (RIM) for allegedly passing access porn on the handset, which lets users view pornographic content.
"This is a serious concern for us. We are very concerned and want to be able to resolve the problem as quickly as possible with the RIM," said a spokesman for the authority Ofcom, told the Telegraph, which reported Tuesday (12/20/2011).
According to reports, RIM will attend a meeting with Ofcom, together with representatives of the operator. In fact, operators like Orange and Vodafone are able to block pornography by default, meaning that customers need to turn off that feature manually or procedural.
Because RIM's BlackBerry service using its own server, the device can get exclusive access every effort to filter and allow direct access to adult material.
Yet another problem is, because the BlackBerry is the phone is very popular with the younger age group for various reasons, including ease of communication provided by the BlackBerry Messenger (BBM).
RIM allegedly offered to filter the server to the network operator the UK but only T-Mobile already has a step is inserted into customers
This is another embarrassing blow for the rim following a few mistakes publicity from the beginning of the year, including a server outage that left millions of users without internet or email and widespread use of fuel interface during riots in London.
