CALIFORNIA - Microsoft has finally reached an agreement to cooperate with IP-based voice services (VoIP), Skype. Having previously agreed EU cooperation.
In a statement, Microsoft CEO, Steve Ballmer, said, "Skype is a phenomenal product and much loved by hundreds of millions of people around the world," Ballmer said.
Ballmer added, "We look forward to working with Skype, to create new ways for people to stay connected with family, friends, clients and coworkers, anytime and anywhere."
Microsoft has acquired Skype for $ 8, 5 Billion. Skype is a service that has 65 million subscribers. Similarly told Tech Radar, Monday (17/11/2011)
After the cooperation between Microsoft and Skype, now CEO of Skype, Tony Bates, served as board president of Microsoft Skype.
Bates says, "Microsoft and Skype, will cooperate with the aim to accelerate Skype reach 1 billion users per day," he said.
Not known how Microsoft will integrate with Skype, but it is likely we will see it in the form of integration of Hotmail.
