Respect Players Muslims, EPL Without Champagne?


The main sponsor of English Premier League, Barclays is reportedly weighing the possibility of elimination of champagne at the end of the game in honor of the Muslim players.

Tradition that goes for champagne is always present at the conferring of the title Man of the Match at the end of the game, but several recent incidents make it into consideration.

The last time was when Yaya Toure rejected the traditional gift when he lined up to be the best player in Manchester City versus Newcastle victory three weeks ago.

Kala teammate Joleon Lescott gave him a bottle of champagne in the middle of live television, the Ivory Coast players with finely refused by saying, "I do not drink because I'm Muslim, so just save it for you."

An internal source said: "Barclays is thinking whether it is acceptable to give alcohol, given that so many nationalities in this league."
