RIYADH - Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz al Saud, condemning the attitude of China and Russia vetoed a Security Council resolution that the United Nations (UNSC) on Syria. King Abdullah also assess the confidence of the United Nations already shaky.
"We are always proud of the United Nations which was formed to unite us and we are not splitting up. However, what is happening now is not a good sign, because confidence has been shaken to the UN," said King Abdullah, told Arab News on Saturday (11 / 2/2012).
"Currently, we are going through the terrible days and what happened at the UN to be a regrettable thing," he added.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques were also mentioned penjegalan UNSC resolutions made by Russia and China. The resolution was intended to force Syrian President Bashar al Assad to withdraw.
Foreign ministers from Arab League member states will reportedly hold a discussion to send envoys to Syria. The discussion was carried out after the team monitoring the Arab League have failed in ending the violence in Syria.
Saudi Arabia and five other Gulf states, including Jordan and Morocco have attracted pemantaunya the Arab League because of the incident.
Until now, the violence was still going on in Syria. On Friday, 28 people were reportedly killed in a bomb blast in the city of Aleppo. The opposition immediately accused the troops of President Assad was behind the incident.
