ANKARA - Turkey's Relations with France continues to heat up. Having
previously acknowledged the French massacre of 1.5 million ethnic
Armenians in World War I, with the issuance of a law about it.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan seems to have dirudung resentment that culminated with the re-issued a strong statement against the French. This time, Erdogan also claimed the French massacred Algerians during the colonization of land.
"French forces burned the Algerian people as in the oven during the period of colonialism there," said PM Erdogan as quoted by AFP on Saturday (12/24/2011).
"If Sarkozy does not know about this massacre, he should have asked his father, Pal Sarkozy. His father served for the French Foreign Legion in the 1940's. I'm sure he had plenty of stories to tell to their children," added Erdogan.
Erdogan's speech was later denied by the father of President Sarkozy. Assess Erdogan himself very ridiculous and unfounded.
