BRISTOL - Researchers try new ways to produce electricity, this time the test using urine as an alternative to producing electricity. This study took place at the University of The West of England (UWE) in Bristol.
Research paper about the possibility of using urine for microbial fuel Fuel Cells (MFCs) is claimed to be the first in the world.
MFCs contain the same bacteria with bacteria in the soil, the human gut, or a water ditch. These bacteria breathe in anaerobic (without oxygen) while removing electrons.

"Through this research, we can show that the miniaturization and doubling the number of MCFs into a box, and then regulate the flow of urine to it have the possibility to display the size of the potential of generating electricity. For example, for use in a small village." he added.
