Tripoli - Forces of the National Transitional Council (NTC) to destroy the green walls surrounding the compound housing the City Moammar Gaddafi in Tripoli on Sunday. They say, now is the time to destroy the symbol of tyranny.
Brigade commander Ahmad Ghargory NTC said, Bab al Aziziya will be a national park for the citizens of Libya.
"The destruction of this place is a decision of the NTC," said Ghargory, as quoted by the Associated Press on Monday (10/17/2011).
"All the bad things going on behind these walls, and they (Gaddafi loyalists) torturing people behind this wall, we had to destroy this wall to eliminate the bad memories," said one army NTC Tarek Saleh.
Gaddafi's front yard that used to be a place for her speech today turned into an animal market.
Bab al Aziziya formerly a residential complex surrounded by high walls and barbed wire. Besides being a place that people hated the anti-Gaddafi, the place was also a mystery to Libyan citizens.
Many residents in Tripoli who are afraid to be near the building. They worry about being shot by security forces.
Housing complex that is also a major target of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) forces at the NTC has entered into Tripoli.
