BERGEN - A researcher showing signs of Facebook addiction similar to drug addiction, alcoholism and chemical addiction.
Cecilie Schou Andreassen of Universitan Bergen led the research by conducting a study to 227 women and 196 men who participated in the test BFAS. Meraka Facebook addiction scale tested in the general population worldwide.
Research conducted Andreassen recorded in the journal report, entitled "Psychological Reports". He also said, "We are dealing with a subdivision of Internet addiction that is connected to social media." Thus was launched Menafn, Sunday (05/13/2012).
Later in his study, Andreassen shows the dependence Facebook occur more regularly at a younger age than older users. Not only that, people are worried and socially insecure also access Facebook more often. This happens because they find it easier to communicate through social media.
"Our research also shows women are more at risk of addiction to Facebook, perhaps because the social nature of Facebook," says Andreassen.
