SAO PAULO - Brazil Jundiai city changed the street names as a token of appreciation for the co-founder of Apple, Steve Jobs. Now the 'Avenida Steve Jobs' has officially become the name of the road after getting approval from the Mayor, Miguel Haddad.
Reported by MacMagazine, Haddad agreed to change the name to the city council meeting last month. Tribute to Jobs was first proposed after one day of the death of former Apple's CEO in October last year.
Reporting from Apple Insider, Sunday (4/15/2012), Haddad said last year he chose a special way to Anhanguera because along the way it is a place where Apple products manufacturing facility is built, Foxconn.
While it's about Apple's move in Brazil, recent reports claiming it plans to begin selling the Apple iPad 2 units are manufactured in Brazil and the iPhone 4 produced in the country has also emerged in February.
Brazil is one of the important market for Apple, this statement is proven by Apple CEO, Tim Cook that Brazil is a region that is expected to have great growth this year.
Street name is not the first award dedicated to Jobs. Previously, a Hungarian software company unveiled a statue that resembles a six-foot and there is also a LifeTime Jobs Achivement Award from the Recording Academy at the end of February
