Japan Need Shelter

KUALA LUMPUR - The United Nations agency in charge of food (WFP) said it has distributed aid to Japan amounted to $ 2 million or approximately Rp17, 4 billion (USD 8.705 per dollar).
These funds are intended to victims of the earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan last March 11.
Although aid amounting to Rp17, 4 billion has been distributed to Japan, still the victims of the earthquake today requires still a lot of other assistance. WFP is assessing the earthquake victims in desperate need of temporary shelter. So reported the Associated Press on Friday (01/04/2011).
In addition, adequate sanitation and medical equipment are also needed the quake victims. As is known before an earthquake measuring 9 on the Richter scale (SR) was devastated cities such as Fukushima, Iwate and Miyagi.
WFP deputy executive director Amir Mahmoud Abdullah said the party is currently working with the UN Health Agency (WHO), in order to overcome the spread of diseases after the earthquake.
