End of the season, Stoner Retirement

Le Mans - Casey Stoner made a surprise decision. In the midst of its glory in the international MotoGP Repsol Honda chose to retire.

This shocking statement racer from Australia raised on the sidelines of preparatory French MotoGP at Le Mans circuit this weekend. In a press conference, 26 riders this year confirmed that this season is his last season in the world of motor racing.


"After a long thought and much discussion with family and wife, I will no longer race in 2013," said Stoner told the Guardian, Friday (05/18/2012).


"I will end the career (race) I was in MotoGP at the end of this season, and continue to live in a different way," he continued.


No longer has the passion in the race to be the main reason the world champion 2007 and 2011 it decided to retire from the race.


"After so many years in the sport that I love, and the many sacrifices that my family and I have done, this sport has changed and this change makes me no longer enjoy it," he added.


"I no longer have the passion (passion) to continue and for now I think it's better to retire," said the driver nicknamed The Kurri Kurri boy-is.


"Yes, basically it would be nice if I had another year career, but until when I will stop? So, we decided to finish it all today, "he concluded.


Stoner also expressed by the statement echoed his team today, Repsol Honda. Through an official twitter account, this Japanese factory team said, "Casey has said that 2012 would be his last season in MotoGP. Let us pray that he had a fantastic season! "


Stoner began his career in MotoGP in 2006. After ending the 2005 season as runner-up in the 250cc class, was promoted to MotoGP Stoner and defend the Honda satellite team, LCR Honda.


Season in the LCR, close to the Ducati and Stoner found glory. In its inaugural season, Stoner immediately successful claim his first world championship title in 2007, winning 10 series.


In the following season (2008), Stoner had to settle for runner-up and hand over the crown champion Valentino Rossi (Yamaha still together). Well, in the next two seasons (2009-2010), Stoner started having severe problems ranging from inconsistent performance-up to the physical condition declined rapidly, so that makes it fail to perform excellent.


Starting the 2011 season, Stoner took the courageous step of receiving the proposal Repsol Honda. Apparently, this decision was a success in which he successfully re-emerged as the champion of the world.
