CALIFORNIA - cloud-based storage solutions, will soon face a new rival. Is Google, which reportedly ready to launch a storage solution Dropbox and similar to rival Apple's iCloud.

The news is according to the Wall Street Journal, which quotes from people who know and have knowledge of the platform.

"As with Dropbox, Google storage service called Drive, is a response to the growth of the Internet are connected with mobile devices like smartphones and tablets," according to the report, as reported by Pocket-Lint, Friday (02/10/2012).

Not only that, the growing popularity of cloud computing or storage online also be the reason Google to launch the service.

Actually, Google Drive, or G-Drive is an old rumor, but with the success that embraced Dropbox, then the cloud storage service launch time was getting closer.

With various Android devices, be it tablets, smartphones, as well as a large community of Google such as Gmail, Google + and YouTube, will not be a big problem to build the user base. Even so, it would not be easy to attract users of cloud-based storage like Dropbox.

But with Gmail and Google Docs are already making use of 'cloud' Google, then a virtual drive is certainly not a big step for the search giant.
