Avoid Sensor, Hackers Want to Build Own Satellite

BERLIN - The number of sensors on the internet, eventually making computer hackers intend to put its own communications satellite into orbit. So in this way, they can be outside the reach of censors.

Reported by the BBC, Tuesday (01/03/2012), the project was outlined at the Chaos Communication Congress in Berlin. Organizers say the project, the Global Grid Hackerspace will develop grid at the station underground to track and communicate with the satellites.

The idea was first expressed by activist hackers, Nick Farr during August. He said that the increasing threat of Internet censorship has motivated this project.

Farr proposal exemplifies the legislation proposed by the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the United States (U.S.), as an example of freedom of criticism that will be encountered online. If ultimately successful SOPA, eat some sites might be blocked on the grounds of copyright.

This project looks ambitious, is also recognized by Armin Bauer who worked at the Global Grid Hackerspace. "It's very ambitious, so we'll try it from something smaller first," ujat Bauer.

Even in the long run, a hacker space projects that will greater aims to put an amateur astronauts to the moon in 23 years.
