TRAVEL your holiday in Bangkok will be very expensive, especially if we have to constantly pay for transportation, entry fees and other expenses just to see a place or a particular attraction.

But for those who do not have much money to spend on tourism activities, there are still things to be seen without charge and of course could be to save money.

Here is a list of some free activities in Bangkok. As quoted from Travelfish.org, Wednesday (09/11/2011).

1. Visiting Wat
There are so many Wat or temples in Bangkok you can visit without paying an entrance fee is expensive. Many of these free temples are as beautiful as that required admission. If you spend time at the Wat, you will also get a chance to see how the religious citizens of Thailand for their spiritual beliefs.

2. Looking at the shops
Looking around at the mall or a 'window shopping' is a popular activity for locals and tourists who want to spend a hot afternoon in an air-conditioned building. Visiting the mall is also a great way to observe local life, especially young people of Thailand. Siam Square is the perfect place to also see the work of young designers Thailand.

3. Tasting the food
Go to the supermarket, take a walk and do the taste test or take food samples from some local foods that are sold. Small portion was prepared for buyers who want to try.

4. Seeing wild animals
In addition to cats, dogs, and rats are commonly found in many cities, you will be surprised to find some other animals around Bangkok. There is a lizard that is often seen in Lumphini Park, squirrels, crows and many other birds. Afternoon is the best time to see the squirrels running around looking for food in the local park.

5. Watch a street artist
Some call it vandalism, others call it art. Whatever it's called, there are some that you can find in Bangkok. I saw some near Victory monument and his work is impressive.

6. Visit the park
Bangkok has many parks can be visited. The most popular is Lumphini Park, but if you stay in Khao San, the nearest is Santichai Phrakarn overlooking the Chao Phraya river. I often spend the afternoon here to relax while sipping your favorite milk tea and watch the sunset.

7. Visiting arts and cultural center of Bangkok
Museum of Contemporary Bangkok is located opposite MBK. You will see the installation of modern art, galleries and the building itself is quite a spectacle. Entrance is free unless there are special events. Check the BACC website for more information.

8. Visit the Museum
A number of free museum entry fees, some peg the price of admission is very cheap and worth a visit. Some include: Royal Elephant Museum, the Museum and the Museum Bangkokian Correction.

9. Visit a butterfly garden and Insectarium
A short walk from the Chatuchak weekend market takes you to a park, houses a variety of butterflies and insects. There are hundreds of butterflies here and display the information board that will help us understand and learn more about these beautiful creatures.

10. Visit the Market
Visiting the market in Bangkok is one of the favorite things that I often do whenever, or wherever I travel. To the market of free (unless you buy the goods) and it helped me learn a lot by watching the locals as well as the products sold. There are so many things that you will see in the local markets of Bangkok that you might not find in your home country.
