Many Students 25 Countries This lecture in the U.S.


UNITED STATES - Asia is a potential market for the world of higher education the United States (U.S.). Based on the data, there are four Asian countries included in the list of countries sending the most students studying in the U.S. in the academic year 2010-2011.

The data reported by the Institute of International Education named China ranked first in the list. Bamboo Curtain country is sending 157,558 students to the U.S. in 2010-2011, this figure increased 23.3 percent over the previous year.

While India to send 103,895 people. Although there is in second place, the numbers of Indian students in school year 2010-2011 decreased one percent.

Asian domination reinforced by South Korea in the third position. East Asian countries is sending 73,351 people or 1.7 percent increase over the previous year.

The only non-Asian countries in the top five list are Canadian. North American countries are sending 27,546 people or 2.1 percent decrease compared to 2009-2010.

In Taiwan there are five positions. Countries still dispute with China has 24,818 people who went to Uncle Sam's country. Although the top five, the numbers of college students in Taiwan has decreased seven percent.

Meanwhile, Indonesia stuck in the education sector to foreign powers. Indonesia was ranked 19 and send 6942 people to college in America. But if compared to last year, the number of students from Indonesia did not experience growth.

Here's a list of 25 countries sending the most students to study in the United States in academic year 2010-2011, as quoted by the Chronicle, Tuesday (15/11/2011).
  1. China (157.558 people), grew 23.3 percent compared to the year 2009-2010.
  2. India (103.895 people), down one percent.
  3. South Korea (73,351 people), up 1.7 percent.
  4. Canada (27,546 people), down 2.1 percent.
  5. Taiwan (24,818 people), down seven percent.
  6. Saudi Arabia (22,704 people), up 43.6 percent.
  7. Japan (21 290 people), down 14.3 percent.
  8. Vietnamese (14,888 people), up 13.5 percent.
  9. Mexico (13,713 people), up two percent.
  10. Turkey (12,184 people), down 1.7 percent.
  11. Nepal (10,301 people), down 8.3 percent.
  12. Germany (9458 people), down 0.9 percent.
  13. England (8947 people), up one percent.
  14. Brazil (8777 people), down 0.1 percent.
  15. Thailand (8236 people), down 3.5 percent.
  16. Hong Kong (8136 people), up 1.3 percent.
  17. France (8,098 people), up five percent.
  18. Nigeria (7148 people), up 8.8 percent.
  19. Indonesia (6942 people). The number of Indonesian students in the United States did not experience an increase in the year 2010-2011.
  20. Malaysia (6735 people), up 8.8 percent.
  21. Colombia (6456 people), down 6.7 percent.
  22. Iran (5626 people), up 18.9 percent.
  23. Venezuela (5491 people), up 10.8 percent.
  24. Pakistan (5045 people), down 3.4 percent.
  25. Kenya (4666 people), down 13.3 percent.
