MANCHESTER
- Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes there is no better
place to win as Manchester United, rather than at Anfield which is the
headquarters of Liverpool.
The Red Devils will travel to Merseyside on Saturday (15.10.2011) to face perennial rivals, the Reds in a match that was most eagerly anticipated as the competition they have always expected to run tight.
However, the Premier League champions last season will not want to lose focus in the fight later and obviously want to win. Ferdinand interested in the affairs of the victory over Liverpool, and 32-year-old player was admitted to enjoy the meeting.
"Anfield is a hostile place, but there's no better place to win, as a Manchester United player," said Ferdinand in the club's official website on Saturday (15/10/2011).
"Regardless of what happens from this season, to Anfield will always be a big thing for us," he said.
"They are our local rivals. This is a game we really expect to win and I'm sure fans are really excited about this duel," said the England international players.
United could exceed the record of their local rivals from 18 league title last season, securing their 12th Premier League crown to make the red Devils won 19 league titles overall.
Although the appearance of United at Anfield last three years not so good, Ferdinand admitted his side need to improve their current record of three consecutive defeats at Anfield. The most recent in March after United's 1-3 defeat of Liverpool striker Kuyt scored a hat-trick great.
"We did not play well like we should be doing while playing at Anfield recently," he added. We have provided some important goals there. During my first seven years at this club, we have an excellent record against Liverpool, home and away, "he said.
"Many of them winning are based around defending well as a team, play collective, rather than as individuals. If we do that on weekends, I'm sure we can get good results.
