IF visit to Banda Aceh city center, then you will find a huge mosque named Baiturahman. This mosque is a silent witness of the struggle and courage of the Acehnese in the Netherlands repel invaders.
Baiturahman Mosque built during the Sultan Iskandar Muda (1607-1636). At that time the mosque was a center of religious science education in the archipelago. At that time, many students from other regions, even from Arabia, Turkey, India, and Persia who came to Aceh to study religion.
