There are 2 Billion Earth-like Planet in the Milky Way

CALIFORNIA - A recent study states that the possibility of stars that have planets like Earth in the Milky Way pretty much, that between 1 in between 37 planets.

Based on the latest calculations, there may be approximately 2 billion Earth-like planet in the Milky Way. The galaxy is estimated to have a diameter of 100 thousand light-years across and contains 100 to 400 billion stars. Similarly, as quoted from Softpedia, Wednesday (23/03/2011).

Small yellow star is probably the most suitable for the development of planets similar to Earth. Top reason why many scientists are looking for objects that serupakarena likely they will find conditions that could support life.

Conclusions are derived based on the data sent by the planet hunters telescope, Kepler, NASA, which recently revealed the presence of 1 200 exoplanets (planets outside our solar system.)

The proportion of stars that were analyzed for the study were compared with the number and type of planets found around it, and make a list of possibilities generated by these comparisons.

"This indicates that many Earth-like planets out there. With a large number of possibilities have intelligent life on the planet," said Joseph Catanzarite, an astronomer from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.

"And that's just new from our galaxy alone, while there are approximately 50 billion other galaxies," added Catanzarite.

This latest investigation also revealed that a small red star may also have Earth-like exoplanets. The only difference in the astrology system is probably much closer to the parent star.

"I hope that one day, Earth-like planets could be found among the stars," said Catanzarite.

Joseph Catanzarite and Michael Shao experts publish their analysis in the online journal Astrophysical Journal on March 8.
